Repairs: opening the order, sending to the shop and completing
A repair order documents the issue, the technician and the cost; it can record the trip to the shop as a movement, the cost as a bill to review and the equipment's return when completed.
If you are not signed in, Tario asks you to log in and opens your current company.
Steps
Inventory → Repairs shows the orders with Item, Issue, Technician and Started. Click New repair order (or Open repair from the item).
Under Affected item choose the Item, the Start date and the Status before. Under Diagnostic describe the Issue reported, the Technician, the Repair location and the estimated Cost.
If the equipment physically leaves, turn on Record the item leaving for the repair shop and set Leaves from and the Repair shop (one of your locations, for example with the Workshop role): Tario creates the Repair movement for you.
If a vendor charges for the repair, turn on Register the cost as a vendor bill, choose the Repair vendor and the Bill currency: on save a bill in To review status is created with the line “Repair of :item (order #:id)”, which you complete with the electronic invoice when it arrives.
Attach photos, diagnostics or quotes under Attachments; they are linked to the order on save. Confirm with Create repair order.
When done use Complete repair: record the End date, the Resolution, the Status after and the final cost. Turn on Record the item coming back and set Returns to (or Where it was before) so it goes back into stock.
Under Records on each order you see the linked Out to shop, Return and Bill :number; the same history shows in the item detail.
Tips
- An item with an open repair cannot be deleted; complete the order first.
