Products and services: CABYS, VAT and price
Every product or service carries the CABYS, whether it is a good or a service and the VAT rate; from that Tario derives internally the tax codes Hacienda asks for, so you never pick them.
If you are not signed in, Tario asks you to log in and opens your current company.
Steps
In Sales → Products and services click New product or service. Type the Name, the Code (SKU) if you use one, the Type (Goods or Service) and the Price.
In CABYS type part of the description or the code and pick from the official catalog list; the code has 13 digits and is required to issue.
Pick the Hacienda type (Goods, Service or Fixed asset), the IVA rate (for example 13% (general rate), 1% (basic basket and agriculture), Exempt) and the Unit. You never pick internal VAT codes: Tario derives them from these two answers.
Mark whether it is Sellable (shows on invoices, estimates and recurring invoices), Purchasable (shows on bills) or both, and check the Income account under Sales defaults.
Under Product images use Upload images (JPG, PNG, WEBP or GIF); the first one is the main image and you can change it with Use as main image.
Save with Save product or service. From the invoice editor you can also create one on the fly with New product.
Import products and services loads many from CSV or Excel, CABYS included.
Tips
- The defaults for new products (product type and VAT rate) are set in Settings → Hacienda → VAT & proration.
Common errors
